Thousands who care for people with physical and intellectual disabilities show this type of caring on a daily basis through employment as Direct Care Professionals.  These professionals help with life’s essential activities. This includes getting out of bed, getting dressed, going to the bathroom, finding a job, etc.  

Having a heart for this population, many have felt led to work in this area as Direct Care professionals. Unfortunately, hundreds have had to leave the workforce for financial reasons.  

The 2019 Staff Stability Survey Report, released in 2020 by National Core Indicators, reports a 42.8% weighted average turnover rate nationally for direct support roles.
